WATER  HAMMER CONTROL VALVES

SURESEAL Water Hammer Control Valves: SURESEAL Zero Velocity Valve and Air Cushion Valves are used for control of transient, surges or water hammer in the pumping mains using the prevention of water column returning and breaking the oscillating water columns.

The SURESEAL Zero Velocity Valves are offered in the size range on 100 mm dia to 2350 mm dia and for body test pressure of 10 Kg/Cm2 to 25 Kg/Cm2. Valves for higher body test pressures are also offered on request. The Zero Velocity Valve is offered in Barrel ends, Extended barrel ends and Flanged ends for adaptability to various types of pipes.

The SURESEAL Zero Velocity valves prevents the positive surges by preventing the water column to return, which is done by a specially designed valve sensitive to the velocity of water and closes by specially engineered springs, when the forward velocity reduces near zero. This breaks the energy of the returning water column and controls the positive surges.



SURESEAL Air Cushion valve is offered in 100 mm dia, 150mm dia , 200mm dia and 300 mm dia. The body test pressures are 10 Kg/Cm2 to 25 Kg/Cm2 and for body test pressure of 10 Kg/Cm2 to 25 Kg/Cm2. Valves for higher body test pressures are also offered on request.

The SURESEAL Air Cushion Valves are placed in addition to the Kinetic Air Valve in the pumping main to prevent the down surge at separation and upsurge due to rejoinders. The Air Cushion Valve takes the air in to break vacuum developed due to separation of water column, preventing the down surge. Especially engineers Air Cushion valve uses this air as a cushion at the rejoinder of water column and breaks the oscillating water column. The compression of the air gives the cushioning effect at the rejoinder of water column. This air cushioning also breaks the oscillation of the water columns early.

Both the Zero Velocity Valve and Air Cushion Valve enable to prevent the up surge, down surge and breaking oscillation of the water column enable the re start of the pump much quicker than many other popular solutions.
